It’s only appropriate that given the impending events of the past week or so, namely the ominous “rapture,” (cue foreboding music), that Las Vegas carries the nickname “Sin City”, and some of the most sinfully decadent days of the entire year just so happen to take place this weekend during what should prove to be the most insane Memorial Day weekend celebration ever. And the only place to be for the delicious debauchery will be the Wet Republic Ultra Pool at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino.

Wet Republic is notorious for throwing the best poolside parties in Sin City all year long, but the venue pulls out all the stops on holiday weekends. This year’s Memorial Day weekend festivities will  prove to be no exception to the rule, as a select few of the world’s finest DJs are slated to hit the decks from this Friday thru Monday.

The party train kicks off Friday with Victor Calderone and Boris, and only picks up steam from there. The one and only DJ Tiesto takes over on Saturday, with an additional set that same night at the Joint at the Hard Rock. On Sunday, Bad Boy Bill and Serge Devant take over the party, while David Guetta caps the weekend of madness for F*** Me I’m Famous on Monday. That event, ladies and gents, is unfortunately sold out; but it is Sin City so I’m sure you can all come up with clever ways to finagle your way into the party.

We’re all going to hell anyway… might as well embrace it, right?

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of working with DJHere Productions, a prominent nightlife promotions company based out of San Diego.

I’ve worked with them on a few projects in the past, but I was particularly excited to work with them on this trip (for reasons other than the obvious). The company’s mission is to consistently evolve along with the trends in nightlife, and serve as innovators that bring new ideas to the nightclub experience & make it the best it can possibly be. While they’re probably reading this, I’ll say that they’re actually one of my favorite companies to work with – they’ve always got something new, something different, and something that’s a cut above the rest when it comes to their events.

When I heard of this trip – I emailed Pat & Chris, the front-runners of the company. I mentioned that I thought I could provide an alternative perspective to the destination experience than the regular “grip & grin” pics that you’ve probably seen at any nightclub you’ve ever been to. While they had already contractedJames Norton to shoot it, they said that if anything came up – they would get in touch and talk about it. Well, something came up & James wasn’t able to go. (If you haven’t seen his work, he’s one of the few nightlife photogs I respect down here in San Diego, and personally I think he pulls some of the best content from a night out)

So the trip, you ask! Well, the premise is a basic set-up…DJHere was working in conjunction with Angel Management Group in Las Vegas to host 100 of San Diego’s most attractive girls. Free room, free food, free transport. Doesn’t get much better than that, does it?

We headed out on Friday afternoon via bus from Firehouse in Pacific Beach. When we arrived to the Hard Rock Hotel in the late afternoon, it was *quite* the experience walking in those lobby doors. Reminded me of this commercial back from 2009:

The trip was amazing, and while I was primarily there to work – I’ll admit it was one of the best vacations of my life. I’m guessing you don’t have a hard time understanding why.

While I was there, I decided to have a little fun and include some friends via facebook. I put out the following status update and let my friends decide my fate – the result? I have lucky friends.

Friday night, the entire group went to PURE nightclub, followed by WET Republic Saturday, Tiesto at the Hard Rock Saturday night, and finally the new club Vanity at the Hard Rock sunday. By sunday night, everyone was pretty much dancing with their hands while sitting down…by the 3rd straight night of partying, everyone is pretty much DONE. Didn’t stop me & 2 friends from going crazy on the $1 blackjack machines though. Watch out, high rollers comin’ through!

When Angel Management Group announced the shocking, aggressive purchase of the once unstoppable Pure Management Group, it was all but announcing to Las Vegas that it had taken over the local nightlife scene, too.

There’s no doubt that this is their year. After a slow-and-steady-wins-the-race, creeper business model, AMG now controls the operations of Pure Nightclub, LAX, Social House, Wet Republic, Moorea Beach Club, Studio 54, Mix Lounge, Eyecandy Sound Lounge and Bar and Rok Vegas, manages the Hard Rock Beach Club including Rehab, and handles marketing and VIP services at Vanity Nightclub.

“We have been preparing for this all along,” says founder and CEO Neil Moffitt. “It’s not a surprise to me that we are where we are today. We were very quietly doing our business and not focused on expanding our brand’s name, but more focused on expanding our clients’ business and name, which is the way we would like to do business.”
