While we are lucky enough to have the best weather in the U.S., there is still a special buzz in the air when the summer months approach. Enjoy your summer by trying one, two, three, or all of these activities and let us know which was your favorite.

Visit the Zoo

The San Diego Zoo has been ranked the second-best zoo in the world according to TripAdvisor.com. If that isn’t enough of a reason to visit the zoo, maybe thinking about the cute cuddly panda bears will change your mind.

Go on a Hike

Summer is the perfect time to go on a long scenic hike. Some San Diego gems include the Devil’s Punch Bowl, Three Sisters, and Cowles Mountain. Try beginning your hike early in the morning so you are not forced to walk miles in the basking sun!

Snorkel in La Jolla Cove

The La Jolla Cove is a special area in San Diego where wildlife is abundant thanks to the natural cove, providing safety to many specimens. Spend a day snorkling and you may bump into seals, fish, or more!

Enjoy the Beaches

San Diego is home to several breath-taking beaches. Pack a picnic and spend a day lounging around on one of the many beautiful beaches we have to offer.

Go to Dive Day Club

Dive Day Club is the pool scene at Harrah’s Resort SoCal featuring 35 VIP cabanas and day beds, ‘ritas cantina including the Stage Dive, the (sometimes crazy) Lazy River, SoCal’s only swim-up bar, and the best DJ’s in the game every Sunday Funday. This is the best pool party in San Diego that you don’t want to miss!

Try a Watersport

San Diegan’s are known for being fit and healthy, and much of that is due to all of the watersports we are lucky enough to take part in. Pick up surfing if you haven’t tried it before or maybe rent a kayak for the day. Whatever you choose, get out on the water and get active!

Frolick at a Farmers’ Market

San Diego boasts many farmers’ markets all throughout the county. On Tuesday, enjoy free samples in Pacific Beach or Coronado. Wednesday you can enjoy the atmosphere and fresh produce in Ocean Beach. Thursday, UTC, Northpark, and Horton Square all provide all the fresh food, produce, and unique products you are looking for. Saturday Little Italy, Del Mar, Scripps Ranch, and Golden Hill will cater to your people-watching and sample-tasting. Last but certainly not least, visit the farmers’ markets in the Gaslamp District, Hillcrest, La Jolla, Point Loma, and Seaport Village on Sunday.

Dress Up For the Del Mar Horse Races

Flock to the Del Mar Racetrack and place bets on your favorite horses. Maybe you’ll win, maybe you’ll lose, regardless, the Del Mar Horse Races are an experience you won’t want to miss. Dress up, grab a cocktail, and cheer on your favorite thoroughbred.

Hit Up The San Diego County Fair

Fried food, ridiculous rides, and goofy games. The San Diego County Fair held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds is one of the best country fair’s around. From early June through the Fourth of July weekend, you can enjoy live shows, great food, and fun times.

Sight-see at Balboa Park

Whenever any outsiders speak of San Diego, they usually mention Balboa Park. This historic landmark is home to amazing architecture, beautiful gardens, many museums, as well as food and drinks galore. The best part is that you could spend an entire day here without spending a dime.
