In years past, we locals would put quality music aside in honor of swanky décor and a sizzling hot crowd, but nowadays, our vibrant nightlife scene has taken a change of pace to ensure that music is at the forefront of our party programming.
As more ultra-glam nightclubs hit the scene in San Diego’s buzzing Gaslamp Quarter, our revered local hot spots have been forced to continually revamp their style in order to keep current with the latest trends. Whether it’s hard-hitting electro and house music or dougie-inducing beats, our favorite nightspots have begun to find their individuality through mind-blowing musical acts. Goodbye D-list locals, hello Top 100!
Always ahead of trend, Andaz Hotel is the elegant home for San Diego’s elite to see and be seen. Providing rooftop luxury, superior entertainment and a sizzling crowd without the rowdy scene that has come to define other weekly parties, the esteemed hotel’s urban chic nightlife scene has recently switched gears to provide us party-hungry monomaniacs with a star-studded lineup of in-club celebrity performances.
Star Watch: Are you ready to party hardy people? Though it’s always beautiful weather in San Diego, the sun has finally started to heat back up and entertainment at Ivy is following the same pattern this year. Put on your party pants and grab your dancing shoes because Ivy is coming out with an insane lineup for spring in San Diego.
Ghetto Fab: On Thursday, April 7th, Ivy will host the Official San Diego Launch Party of Ghetto House Radio, a two-hour syndicated house music show on 14 radio stations across the country that plays the past three decades of bass-heavy tracks and trance-inducing beats. The party will feature live entertainment and music by Kevin Brown and Nick G of Ghetto House Radio, Nava, Mr. Dee Jay, Vu Do, Kinky Loops and Jesse Molloy on saxophone, presented by TK Productions, Dtown Productions and DDJ.
Seriously Seductive: Set to open on Memorial Day Weekend, the all-new Nikki Beach Las Vegas has brought the best of their South Beach, Marbella and St. Tropez inspired designs to the newly renovated Tropicana. As the largest Nikki Beach property in the world, this haute hot spot will bring the ultimate global beach club, nightclub and pool party experience to Las Vegas…but not before we lucky San Diego locals get to experience its sizzling blend of beautiful design, hot fashion and sexy entertainment. On Friday, April 8th, the Nikki Beach Grand Opening Party Tour will stop at Ivy for an evening of glamour and indulgence. Party-goers can enjoy a hosted bar from 9pm-11pm and sounds by SKAM artist Cheapshot, plus DJs Este, Kevin Brown, Roman Rosati, and Slowhand. Tell only your best friends.
Bass Down Low: Los Angeles-based electronic DJ/producer Villains is about to rock the house like crazy on Saturday, April 9th at Ivy. Since Mad V (Miguerl De Vivo) and Koncept (Eric Wolf) formed the group in late 2007, they have been steadily touring the globe and producing original music and electric remixes for some of the music industry’s most reputable artists. For Volume VIII of Studio Saturdays, party people can fist pump the night away to the electronic sounds of Villains, plus Dj Bizzy, Craig Smoove, DJ Este, and Kyle Flesch, and enjoy live entertainment from the sexy Lipstik Inc. dancers, presented by DJhere Productions.
